‘Bachelor’ Final: Matt James picks a winner and dumps it

This was the last thing the “Bachelor” fans were waiting for.

Matt James ended up handing out his last rose and, surprisingly, went to Rachael Kirkconnell, who has been in the headlines recently after pictures of her at a formal boom on the subject of antebellum plantation from 2018 re-emergence.

But at a “After the Rose” concert, hosted by Emmanuel Acho, James said he had broken up with Kirkconnell after the controversy.

Matt James deals with 'Bachelor' racist controversy

“When I asked about our relationship, it was in a context that you didn’t fully understand my Black and what it means to be a Black man in America,” James told Kirkconnell during Monday ‘s program. “It broke my heart, because this was the last conversation I thought we would have. I did not sign this conversation. “

Kirkconnell then apologized, saying she had been “living in ignorance” and “didn’t I ask myself what tradition is behind this? What does this represent?”

“I could easily ask myself those questions. I’ve never been able to make that connection.”

Guest Chris Harrison has resigned as host of “The Bachelor” after defending Kirkconnell. It is unclear whether and when it will be back.
