Avocado meets coffee in ‘Avolatte’ trend

As the one-horned themed drinks from Starbucks have proven, being creative with coffee can be a real treat. Some greatly value the effort that goes into putting fresh carrots on the hot drink, but others can be put off by fooling around with the basics.

It is difficult to know the direction of the masses if the “avolatte” gets any draw. An increasingly popular scene in Melbourne, Australia, it’s a latte served inside the bark full of half an avocado, and seemingly special for the Instagram sharing.

The decision was apparently the opinion of an anonymous manufacturer at the Truman Cafe in Melbourne, who posted a video on Instagram showing an employee pouring coffee and milk into an avocado . The video was supposed to be a joke, according to News.com.au, but since then people have been coming into the cafe and asking for avolatte; other shops are beginning to comment on the idea.

It’s hard to say whether consumers are very interested in tasting the drink or just curious. You can decide for yourself if and when the avolatte comes to a coffee shop near you.
