Eggs
Ms Young says eggs are the perfect breakfast when you hang out with a hangover.
That’s because they are rich in cysteine, an amino acid that breaks down acetaldehyde, one of the main toxins that leaves you feeling dizzy the next morning.
Acetaldehyde accumulates more you drink, leaving you with nausea, headaches and lethargy when you wake up.
Sweet potato
Alcohol causes blood sugar levels to skyrocket leading to an increase in appetite and a decrease in energy resources in a matter of hours.
That’s why it’s essential to eat foods that raise blood sugar and restore balance to metabolism.
Ms Young recommends eating undamaged carbohydrates such as sweet potatoes, quinoa or multi-grain breads that release energy slowly and steadily throughout the day.
This slow release reduces sugar cravings while increasing satiety, leaving you fuller for longer and less likely to reach for processed junk food.

Alcohol lowers potassium, one of the most important minerals in the body that regulates fluid balance, controlling zero signals to the brain and muscle movement.
Potassium plays a key role in keeping the body hydrated – and rehydrating it after a night on the town.
Ms Young says the high levels of potassium in avocados and bananas make them a great way to pump water back into the body, fast.
Avocados are also packed with fiber, vitamin B6 and healthy fats that work together to restore the body of all alcohol.
