In Australia, which has adopted the “zero-contagion” policy when it comes to fighting the corona plague, no risks are being taken. About two million Australians, residents of the city of Perth, opened their week today (Monday) with a five-day closure, following the discovery of one person found positive for the corona virus.

Authorities in the country have reacted strongly and have chosen to impose a five-day ban on the capital of the state of Western Australia, after it was found that a security guard at a hotel, where isolates who had returned from abroad to Australia were infected with the virus.

In Australia, which along with New Zealand is considered a positive model for dealing with the corona, epidemiological investigations were immediately conducted to understand the potential for the contagion chain that may be following the incident. The authorities’ investigation revealed that 66 people were considered to have had close contacts with the security guard. “13 close contacts have been examined and 11 of them are considered high risk and have been transferred to hotel quarantine as an additional precautionary measure,” Western Australian Governor Mark Megwan said at a press conference in Perth.

The guard at the hotel who was diagnosed with blue in Corona worked at the Four Point Shovel Hotel and began to feel unwell on January 28th. He has not been to work since, and a test he found was positive for the virus. According to reports coming from Australia, the hotel housed four verified patients, including two who were found to be carriers of the British mutation and one who carried the South African mutation.

As part of the authorities’ efforts to prevent the spread of the virus, it was examined and found that a hotel worker was working on the same floor as a verified patient carrying the British mutation. Authorities also noted that the security guard underwent corona tests on January 15, 17 and 23, in which he was exposed to the virus and it is suspected that he was probably infected on January 26 or 27.
