At gunpoint: A sports reporter was robbed in front of the cameras, just before it went live

Ecuador is in turmoil after local sports reporter Diego Ordinola was robbed in broad daylight at gunpoint by a young man who passed by.

The incident took place near Monumental Stadium in the country, just minutes before the start of Ordinola’s regular live broadcast. In a video that the camera crew managed to document, the robber was seen pulling out a gun in front of Ordinola’s face, demanding his cell phone from him.

Ordinola, for his part, showed composure in those moments of horror, and refused.

In response, the robber snatched another person’s cell phone from the camera crew, and fled for as long as he could, to the parking lot. The brave camera crew did not give up, and the camera was able to capture very clear images of him, documenting the entire incident. The robber fled the area on a motorcycle he had hidden in the parking lot near the stadium, but apparently he will not go far, as all his photos are now published in the country.

The video went viral in and out of the country, and hundreds of thousands have already watched and commented on it – and yet, the thief has not yet been caught.
