Aston Martin F1 renamed team sign title support

The recently rebranded Aston Martin Formula One team has acquired US-based IT brand Cognizant as a title sponsor.

The team will be officially named as Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One Team after rebranding from Racing Point over the winter.

Last year, Austrian water company BWT sponsored the title of the team, which took over from betting company SportsPesa in early 2020.

An image released by Cognizant shows prominent branding on the side of a green Formula One car, though the team ‘s distinctive colors will not be unveiled until March at a launch event at Aston Martin’ s headquarters in Gaydon.

The F1 team, formerly Force India, was bought by a billion-dollar Canadian-led consortium of investors Lawrence Stroll in 2018 and ran under the name Racing Point in the second half of 2018, 2019 and 2020.

However, when Stroll recently bought a major stake in car company Aston Martin, the F1 team was rebranded in the winter.

“The return of Aston Martin to Formula One after more than 60 years away is a milestone in the history of the sport,” said Stroll. “Everyone knows what Aston Martin stands for.” but the Formula One team will allow us to take the brand’s meaning to new places, building on the strong foundations laid by the team’s previous statements.

“I am extremely proud to be able to begin this new chapter with the support of Cognizant. In today’s world, as the digital switchover continues, I can’t think of a more suitable or valued partner to work with us as we strive to make Aston Martin one of the biggest teams in the sport. “

Former Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel will join Aston Martin this year and Lawrence ‘s son Lance Stroll will be racing for the team from the start of the 2019 season.
