Maccabi Tel Aviv is waiting for developments with Mitch Goldhaar regarding the decision regarding the future of coach Yorgos Donis. Talks were held yesterday (Tuesday) on the matter, but are still awaiting a decision from the Canadian owner.
In the shadow of the incessant reviews, Donis talked to the actors and stressed that they now have to be together. But the Greek coach has to deal at the same time with the fact that the team is not progressing in the league and very many of his players are resentful of the current situation.
It is estimated that any result other than a victory in tomorrow’s game (Thursday) against Kiryat Shmona, could cause a shock at the club. It is estimated that if Donis finishes his journey, Patrick Van Levin and Uri David will take the role temporarily, as it was at the beginning of the year before Donis’ arrival.
On another issue, the pressure is growing in an attempt to bring back the generation of Micah from anorthosis, when there are other factors who are interested in seeing the former captain return to Kiryat Shalom. Among other things, apparently, also sponsors of Maccabi Tel Aviv.
But as with Donis, ultimately the decision is Goldhar’s and for now, it does not appear that he will reverse the decision he made about six months ago.
