Artistic gymnast Linoy Ashram participated today (Friday) in the World Cup in Sofia, after about four months since winning the European Championship, where she last performed. This time she Ashram introduced some of her new exercises, with which she is scheduled to perform at the Olympic Games in Tokyo this summer – and has run to the finals in the hoop and ball exercises.

In the hoop exercise Ashram earned a high score of 25,800 points. In her new ball exercise, in which she performed to the tune of the song “Big in Japan” and with which she is to compete in the Tokyo Olympics, Israel’s senior gymnast received a score of 25,550 points after the ball ran off the surface and she finished the exercise without it, so she dropped a significant score relatively.

Ashram started with two exercises out of four on the first day of the competition, in both of which she qualified for the finals in ball and hoop, which will take place on Sunday. Tomorrow she will also compete in film and batons, and then she will be given the final score in a great battle. At the moment, by the way, Ashram is ranked second in a large battle, with the local Viana Cologne in first place with the same number of points as the Israeli with a general score of 51,350 points.

Ashram’s strong rivals from Russia are not participating in the competition. Israel’s other Olympic gymnast, Nicole Zelikman, is also not participating in the competition in Sofia after she was injured in the leg and it was decided that she would receive a rest in Israel. In her place appeared Adi Katz, who received scores of 23,250 points in the hoop and 20,500 points in the ball.
