As restrictions eased, Israelis prepare for Passover not so different from all others

Supermarkets and shopping centers across Israel were interrupted on Friday morning as buyers tore up products – this time not because of the pandemic but instead ahead of the day. Sunday and then the Easter festival, starting Saturday night.

With most stores closed on Saturday and viewers arriving at least without buying on that day, Friday was the last chance for many jobs to finish ahead of the freebies. hard-working days.

Unlike last year when Israelis were celebrating with their nuclear-only families and banned from leaving their homes for the first night of the festival, Easter gatherings will be allowed to take place according to instructions Ministry of Health – up to 20 outsiders and 50 outsiders.

However, this year there are far fewer restrictions – to the extent that the Israeli coronavirus czar, prof. Nachman Ash, joking earlier this month that he was asked by some to put limits on gatherings so as not to host large groups of people for Christmas festive food in their homes.

“I think 20 people for Seder’s dinner this year is good enough. I get requests to reduce that [number by] people who want less hospitality [people], ”Ash asked.
