Arsenal’s Mohamed Elneny wants him back on loan with Turkish side Besiktas while Thomas Partey returns

Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny ‘seeks back on loan with Turkish side Besiktas’ with Gunners boss Mikel Arteta ready to build his midfield around the return of £ 45m-man Thomas Partey and reducing time the Egyptian game

  • Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny has played 19 games so far in this campaign
  • With £ 45million signing Thomas Partey returning, his playing time could be cut
  • The Egyptian was able to return to Besiktas, where he enjoyed a loan last season

Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny is the subject of a transfer interest from Turkish side Besiktas and conditions could be a way to move in January for Egypt.

Midfielder Thomas Partey – signed from Atletico Madrid for £ 45m in October – has not made six appearances since joining due to recurring injury problems.

But with the Ghanaian ready for his long-awaited return, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta could turn to Elneny as often as he announces the Premier League matchday squads.

As reported by Turkey’s Aksam, Sergen Yalcin’s side are desperate to loan the Egyptian after a stellar 36 game during his temporary spell in Istanbul last campaign.

The 79-cap international started the season strongly but has struggled to hold down a starting spot in the Arteta side.

Partey ‘s recovery could further limit the 28 – year’ s playing time and so a move away could be beneficial to both player and club.

Partey, 27, recovered from a thigh injury in a north London derby on December 6 but suffered an immediate halt.

Partey was criticized in some quarters for leaving the pitch in extra time in the first half with a blow during Tottenham ‘s attack, from which Arsenal opponents scored.

But last week Arteta identified him as an ‘outstanding talent’ and supported him to make a transformative impact on the team.

Sportsmail also reported Monday that Arsenal have also been linked with Sevilla midfielder Joan Jordan in a bid to strengthen their midfield.

Partey could feature in Arsenal’s 3rd round match at the FA Cup against Newcastle on Saturday.
