“Arsenal have no player like him”: In England, Solomon was analyzed

Beginning of an article

At the official level there is still doubt, but there is no doubt that it is in the air: Manor Solomon, after two years in the uniform of Shekhtar Donetsk, is thinking about the next stop. The Israeli star, who is going through an impressive season in the uniform of the Ukrainian Empire – including two goals in the Champions League against Real Madrid – is in the sights of quite a few teams, with the most prominent goal being England.

Arsenal were mentioned as the prominent candidate to take on the Israeli, and this morning (Monday) a comprehensive article was published in the British “Daily Mirror” aimed at wondering about the pitcher of Israeli talent – his history, what he can contribute to the Gunners – and competition from other clubs.

First, along with the basic story and background, an interesting detail was also mentioned there – according to which Solomon had already received interest, from the direction of none other than Manchester City. “Pep Guardiola tried to sign him as early as 2017,” it was written, “initially for £ 5 million, but Maccabi Petah Tikva demanded 10, which caused City to drop the matter.” Then, of course, he rolled into Shakhtar – and the result is known.

So why is Arsenal so interested in him? “Solomon is considered a talent for a number of reasons,” the article analyzed. “Long-term for the club, as Mikel Arteta (the coach) wants to one day inherit players such as Nicolas Pepe and Willian, alongside other young talents such as Bocaio Saca and Gabriel Martinelli. Arsenal do not have a player of his kind,” the Mirror correspondent added.

Afterwards, they also began to analyze his style of play: “Solomon is a player based on ability in ‘one on one’, with one of his key qualities being the ability to dribble and face opponents. His technical ability allows him to get into situations, and provide a real threat on goal. Although he is still immature and needs more work to get better, it is already clear that Solomon will provide a lot of beautiful moves in the game. ” Alongside this, they also analyzed some weaknesses – “Solomon is very good at dribbling, but sometimes the timing of his last delivery may be too late – but this is something the right coach can easily fix.”

The article of course focused on the interest and contribution he could provide to Arsenal, but of course also mentioned other candidates interested in absorbing Solomon – including Atalanta (who reportedly offered £ 17m for Solomon to Shakhtar and was rejected) and Leeds United, who are looking for talent to survive in Premier League. In December 2023, it was reported, Arsenal intend to wait for the summer – to get it at a cheaper price. In any case, if the Gunners go on such a move in the shadow of the Corona, they will have to release a number of players – to meet the cost of the Israeli player.
