The first teaser for the upcoming Netflix heist zombie movie Army of the Dead is here. The film celebrates Zack Snyder’s return to the zombie genre after his 2004 debut Dawn of the Dead. A group of invaders at the Army of the Dead enters a quarantine zone to plot a heist at a Las Vegas casino amid a zombie uprising.
The teaser will reveal nothing beyond what we know from the film’s log line. If the whole world is now full of zombies, what is the use of money? Maybe Las Vegas was just quarantined?
We see scenes of undead swimming Las Vegas as mercenaries led by Dave Bautista traverse the controlled and ruined desert city. The film has a neon-hued color palette, keeping up with a film set in a city known for its nightlife. The look and feel of the film is different from the rest of Snyder’s filmography.
The Army of the Dead looks good, at least visually, and since we don’t know the details of the plot beyond the one-sentence summary, so far we can’t make up our minds. make up the story and whether it’s worth it. Visually, Snyder has almost always excelled.
Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Ana de la Reguera, Garret Dillahunt, Raúl Castillo, Omari Hardwick, Hiroyuki Sanada, Tig Notaro and Matthias Schweighöfer are part of the film’s cast. Huma Qureshi is also in the team although she is missing from this teaser and recently released promotional photos. After the teaser, Indian fans demanded the first look of Huma from the movie.
