The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are a few months away now, so are it worth buying the new consoles when they are so hard to find in 2021?
The start of a new token generation is always an exciting time to be a gamer, but the PlayStation 5 and Xbox X series. perhaps this is the beginning of a new era where updating new hardware is not as essential as it once was. With the new consoles still hard to find and games of all kinds still releasing on last-gen hardware, is it worth buying a PS5 or Xbox Series X in 2021, now that have they been out for a few months?
The Xbox Series X and PS5 released back in November 2020, and they were depressed to find. Scalpers would build consoles in stock and sell them online for twice the price when they were already in high demand. If anything, the impressive specs and unique features of these products were overshadowed by their scarcity, and that is still true today. The situation is already dire enough, but many people are currently struggling financially because of the global pandemic, which is just making the problem worse.

Both Xbox and PlayStation fans would definitely benefit from many of the features added to these platforms. Both consoles take advantage of improved specs, and their SSDs can significantly reduce load times. The PS5’s DualSense controller adds haptic feedback and adaptive triggers that can make in-game actions feel more realistic and immersive, and the Xbox Game Pass is quite capable of taking advantage of Xbox Series X. But are all these factors worth getting a modern console for?
Why might it be better to wait for PS5 & Xbox Series X.
Ordinary Xbox Series X and PS5 owners have been getting a mostly smooth experience (with the exception of the occasional moving PS5 controller), but there’s little incentive in the new consoles that buy now. They are not yet available in stores, meaning buyers will either have to wait for more stock to arrive or buy one from a scalper. Even the retail price of $ 500 dollars is quite high during a pandemic, especially for a device that has no specific content. With rare exceptions as Demon Souls, gamers can play most new titles on last generation consoles just fine. Big games to come as Halo Infinite, Forbidden West Horizon, and Kena: Bridge of spirits they will all be available on last generation hardware. In addition, Xbox Game Pass is still available on Xbox One, and PlayStation Plus games are free on PS4, as well.
Ironically, the people who would benefit most from the purchase of these new consoles are probably the ones already on the market for Xbox One or PS4. If one does not currently have a single platform, it would be wise to buy a new console instead, as they are backwards compatible with old systems. PS5 owners even get a handful of free PS4 games after paying for PlayStation Plus, which is a huge benefit. Customers could also purchase the Xbox Series S for just $ 300 dollars and access the Xbox Game Pass on capable hardware. Ultimately, though, there are both PlayStation 5 and the Xbox X series. they’re fun platforms that are worth the investment in the end, once Microsoft and Sony pump some more bans in and make them easily accessible.
