NORTH VANCOUVER, British Columbia, 27 January 2021 – Arc’teryx Equipment, the global design company specializing in high-performance technical clothing and equipment, marks the beginning of 2021 with a brand platform designed to enhance human experience by connecting people to the transformative power of nature. The Arc’teryx Outer Peace campaign begins today, with the brand announcing a $ 1 million pledge to support partners working to remove obstacles and protect nature, and so individuals who have traditionally been excluded from access to nature may find Peace outside.
“The challenges of 2020 emphasized physical and mental well-being, and we were inspired to launch Outdoor Peace by asking ‘What does the world need, and what can be done? for us to help? ‘ ”Said George Weetman, Vice President of Brand and Digital Commerce at Arc’teryx. “Nature heals, binds, and heals us, and we recognized that this was at the heart of what drives our design spirit. Spending time in nature is at the heart of who we are, and we are here to encourage others to open their doors and step outside to relax – even in the harshest of times. ”
Backed by science and rooted in historical points of proof, Outdoor Peace is based on the benefits of nature, and how being immersed in it can affect mental, emotional and physical life. In collaboration with voices from the scientific, design, and sports communities, over the next five years Arc’teryx will develop initiatives that encourage debate and action for all to be able to spend time in nature .
As part of the Outdoor Peace initiative, in 2021 Arc’teryx commits $ 1 million towards outdoor access and nature conservation. The brand will do this by supporting talented partners around the world who are working to address structural inequalities and barriers to the outdoors.
Over the coming months, Arc’teryx will be showcasing its Outdoor Peace partners across brand channels to share knowledge, inspire Arc’teryx levers and athletes to strengthen advocacy, and host to activity in retail supermarkets with the aim of encouraging, educating and engaging global communities. .
“Research across different domains has examined the positive connections between nature and humans, and the conclusions are consistent: nature is transformative,” Weetman said. “As a brand, our purpose is to connect people with nature and design, and to help them realize that the path to a better and better self is starting out. We believe that the outdoors is for everyone, and with our Outdoor Peace program, we will take forward initiatives that raise awareness and create opportunities to spend time well in nature, wherever it is found. “
