Apple has released a new service announcement announcing a repair program for the watchesApple Watch SE and-Apple Watch 5 Of the company suffering from a charging problem after the watch enters a battery saving mode. While the company has released a fix to the detected bug, according to the publication there are a few cases where the update will not help, in which case users will have to contact the company for a free repair.
The Apple Watch 5 charging issue only applies to the Apple Watch 5 and Apple Watch SE watches, where a new charging bug has been discovered. The charging problem comes just two weeks after the company’s latest service announcement to MacBook Pro users from 2016 and 2017, which was designed to allow and replace the laptop battery for free if it is unable to charge above 1%.
According to the company, some of the watch users with the watchOS operating system in version 7.2 or 7.3 had a problem charging the battery after the watch went into battery saving mode (Power Reserve). While the watchOS 7.3.1 update is intended to fix the new bug, the company notes there are isolated cases the update does not help and if the watch is not charged after half an hour, the company should be contacted to repair the watch at no cost.
