To mark the Chinese New Year – which will be the Year of the Ox and fall on Friday, February 12 – Apple has launched a special edition of the AirPods Pro, featuring a prosecution case adorned with fine artwork with a stag theme inspired by Animoji Apple characters. Featuring a baby stag waking out of a larger stag’s head with stars floating around, the special graphic also adorns the packaging of the limited edition headphones in red. Customers can add custom text to their commemorative headphones, or even turn the ox emoji out for a completely different image.
According to Apple, only 25,400 editions of these Chinese New Year AirPods are available – 11,480 will be reserved for retail stores and 13,920 will be sold online in Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Taiwan and Malaysia.
The limited-edition Pro AirPods are now available on Apple’s Hong Kong website for HK $ 1,999. Apple has also published a Chinese New Year gift guide on its website, featuring gift ideas such as iPhone 12 models, MagSafe accessories, Apple Watch, iPads and more.
