Apple breaks record revenue thanks to iPhone 12

Apple no longer provides quantitative data on iPhone sales, but according to research firm IDC (via CNBC), Apple shipped 90.1 million devices during the quarter, and if these estimates are correct, this is the largest amount of devices Apple has sold in a single quarter ever, with the previous record, from the period when Apple openly reported device sales, standing at about 78 million in the fourth quarter of 2016, the year the iPhone 7 was launched.

Double-digit growth in all divisions

Increase in revenue outside the US

Another significant figure for Apple in the last quarter concerns the company’s growth outside its domestic market in the US. Revenues outside the US accounted for about 58% of its total revenue, compared to 54% in the corresponding quarter in 2019, when the most significant growth came from the Chinese market , Where Apple recorded an increase of about 57% year-on-year, with revenues of about $ 21.3 billion.

The European market brought Apple about $ 27.3 billion in the fourth quarter of 2020, an increase of about 17.3% year-on-year, while in Japan the company saw a 33% increase with a figure of about $ 8.3 billion, and the rest of the Asian market showed an increase of about. 11.5%, with revenues of about $ 8.2 billion.
