Apex Legends game director Chad Grenier has been pushing for content due to its release in future seasons, including as far as Season 11, but he identified Season 9 as a time when which players get some unexpected content.
Apex is currently in Season 7, which launched on November 4, and brought with it a new map, the third game. Season 8 is up the next course, but the team at Respawn always works many seasons in advance, and Season 9 seems to be a high point.
Talking to IGN about their workflow while the whole team has moved to work from home, but nonetheless they have successfully launched two full seasons and work on at least four more.
However, at the end of the discussion, Grenier gave a bit of a lively taste of what players could expect in Seasons 8 and 9 in particular, with a few surprises planned.

Olympus is the latest map in Apex Legends, added with Season 7.
“I’d like to talk about everything, because I’m excited. Season 8 is shaping up to be amazing, it’s just fantastic, and it’s almost entirely done working from home. ” But when he talked about Season 9, Grenier felt even more energetic.
“Season 9 is also going to be great, looking forward to it. In Season 9, you are going to see some key unexpected things. So it’s just a really exciting time right now.
“Despite all the work from the home challenges, we have come a long way, and have found out a lot about working together and how to build great content. . And there’s no shortage of great ideas in our studio. “

What features were expected? There are a few opportunities. At the top of the list for many players would be more non-Battle Royale style modes. The success of LTM as Winter Express will certainly reassure Respawn that these methods can work in Apex. They have already said that this is something they want to work on.
Other possible paths are more PVE style modes, or perhaps a more loose story mode. Season 5 ‘s question was a small idea of what might come in, but Respawn has put this back in Seasons 6 and 7, choosing weekly comics to tell the game’ s story instead.
It is also possible to make another map, but since we have just added Olympus, this does not seem to be so likely, as it seems that another new map within six months is redundant – for players and developers.
Seasons 10 and 11 are also in the works, Grenier confirms, and no doubt plans are being drawn up for several seasons beyond that. As always, we’ll keep you posted on everything you need to know about current and future Apex legends.
