White House chief medical adviser Dr Anthony Fauci on Monday raised concerns about the new change in the UK, which scientists have said is not only more contagious, but also deadly. Fauci, while speaking to NBC, said the preliminary data analyzed by British scientists shows that the new variant is more lethal, saying “I’m pretty sure that some level of increase in the severity of the disease itself, and we need to do that to keep an eye on it. ”

Fauci warned people that they needed to remain vigilant despite the ongoing COVID-19 vaccination campaign in the country. Fauci said the reduction in COVID-19 cases and hospitals cannot be vaccinated. Fauci said this is not the right time to be complacent because of the variety of circulation in the UK, which has already been found in 20 states and is more contagious.

Fauci also said that pharmaceutical companies are working to update the vaccines, however, they said that the available vaccines should be effective against new UK and South African strains. Moderna, a U.S. drug dealer, has developed a new COVID-19 vaccine, which they say will be more effective against the new changes. The company plans to launch a trial of the new vaccine soon.

Meanwhile, Fauci told NBC that he agrees with U.S. President Joe Biden’s plan to impose a travel ban on South Africa because of the new pressure. The infectious disease expert supported the idea of double sheltering because he said it makes sense that the double position will be more effective in preventing harmful aerosol from entering the mouth or nose of the person using it.
COVID-19 in the USA
The United States remains the worst country in the world as it recently passed the 25 million COVID-19 case mark. To date the country has recorded more than 25 million infections and more than 4,19,000 deaths, more than any other country in the world. The U.S. is also at level one when it comes to importing its people as it needs to date vaccinate more than 21 million citizens. However, the country has only vaccinated 6 percent of its population, which is still behind some of the other countries such as Israel, which has vaccinated 44 percent of its population.
