At least 16 cases of a new type of new coronavirus have been detected in the UK, forcing authorities to name it as a “variable under investigation”.
The newly discovered variant is a mutation in series with South Africa and Brazil, reports the BBC.
The cases were first identified on February 15 and experts suspect that the new variant may have originated in Britain.
