General knowledge expert Anne Hegerty has assured fans that she will never be leaving The Chase anytime soon.
The former journalist and writer has been a regular opponent of ITV’s popular questionnaire show for more than a decade, appearing on other programs such as Britain’s brightest family and I ‘m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
But even though they were courting results like Beat The Chasers and The Chasers Road Trip, Hegerty confirmed that she is still enthusiastic about the original show in an interview with Radio Times.
When asked if she would eliminate the Chase forever, Hegerty responded confidently: “Not if I am not fired or they turn it off.”
She continued: “It’s really an easy job. I’m autistic, so I find things like getting a shower, clothes and making my way to the studio very difficult and stressful.
“But it’s the place where I know what I’m doing on the studio floor. I often think, ‘Why can’t the rest of life be like this? ‘”
While autistic has challenged Hegerty, she went on to say that he had benefited from the questioning course.
“One of the characteristics of autistic people is that we become obsessed with things,” she explained. “A lot of information is coming to an end, but it’s very upsetting to your life.”
Currently in its 14th series, The Chase are not showing any slowdown, with plans to record “180 shows” this year, following the launch of newcomer Darragh Ennis. recently added.
