Amazing update on iPhone 13, iPad Pro Leaks, New MacBook Keyboard Problems

Looking back at another week of news and headlines from Cupertino, this week’s Apple Loop introduces the latest details about the iPhone 13, the new color MacBook Pro, more keyboard issues for Apple, improvements to the iPhone trading program, a new iMac and iPad Detail Pro, and the Apple App argument in Australia.

Apple Loop is here to remind you of a few of the many conversations that have taken place around Apple over the past seven days (and you can read my weekly dig of Android news here on Forbes).

Latest iPhone 13 details

Details about the iPhone 13 apparently announced continue to be leaked – even considering it (reviews) is six months away from a possible launch. This week we have two key details on display. The first is around the exterior design; the wide pound at the top used to house the FaceID, sensors, and selfie camera, is expected to be reduced in size:

“As well as the smaller notch, it looks like the iPhone 13’s earphone has been moved to the top bezel instead. This is a big change from what Apple has generally been craving over the years. , although many iPhone users have asked the manufacturer to reduce the size of the notch as newer versions of the iPhone have appeared on the market. ”

Tom directed. The display is expected to be the first iPhone to use LTPO that offers a ‘throttleable’ frame rate to enhance the user experience and extend battery life:

“LTPO screens can already be found on a number of high-end Android smartphones, including Samsung’s own Galaxy S handsets and the recently launched OnePlus 9 Pro. The technology offers lower power consumption coupled with a variable refresh rate from the current maximum of 120Hz to much slower values - the OnePlus 9 Pro drops to 1 Hz when reading text. ”

This MacBook goes to eleven

Spinal Tap fans should enjoy one of the details in a recently released patent. Apple is working on a strategy to use better color in the anodising process, offering a much deeper matte finish. Part of me hopes Apple launches a darker-than-black MacBook at Stonehenge:

“the images described relate to methods of fading the surface of the color anodized part such as the formation of absorbent properties capable of absorbing all visible light events. on the outer surface to give a black view. “

More keyboard fixes for Apple

MacBooks may have switched to the ‘Magic’ Keyboard, but the butterfly keyboard saga is not over, with a class action suit now tested in California. He maintains that Apple was aware of the unreliable design for several years as they continued to sell hardware with the keyboard:

“Judge Edward Davila confirmed the case with seven subclasses on March 8 in California, but the order remained until last weekend. He will raise the promises for a suit that was originally filed. in 2018, three years after Apple added the controversial butterfly switches to its laptops. “

The edge.

Inbound Trade Developments

The program that offers discounts to new iPhone purchases when trading in old smartphones has been expanded, with Apple adding Samsung’s Galaxy Note 20, Google’s Pixel 5, and Pixel 4a to the list:

“As part of Apple’s trading program, customers can trade in Google Pixel 5 and receive up to $ 350 in credit towards the purchase of a new product, the Google Pixel 4a for up to $ 180, or the Galaxy Note 20 for up to $ 425. ”

Leaking new iMac information

It looks like we are getting two new iMac models soon. Off in the developer pulse of the next macOS update are references to ‘iMac21,1’ and ‘iMac21’2’. Chat is already a 24-inch iMac coming in 2021, with two models listed I would assume the second is a model with a larger screen. Traditionally this has been 27 inches, let’s see if the team hits that screen size too:

“…“ iMac21,1 ”and“ iMac21,2 ”correspond to iMacs codenamed J456 and J457. In January, Bloomberg released these specifications as next-generation for the standard 21.5-inch iMac and 27-inch iMac, which is set to update in the spring. “

And the iPad Pro continues

That’s not the only new product found in beta code. The latest iOS beta for version 14.5 upgrades the A14X system on a chip, a variant of the standard Aion Bionic processor that could bring performance levels similar to the M1-powered MacBooks to the iPad Pro:

“According to our research, we also found that the A14X is based on the T8103, which is the codename for the Apple M1 chip used in the first Apple Silicon Macs. This confirms a recent Bloomberg report short which claims that the iPad Pro will be the next generation “you have an updated processor equivalent to the fastest M1 chip.”

And finally …

Apple has made a bold argument to the Australian consumer watchdog (ACCC); the App Store is not “the strongest marketplace” as developers have other channels to reach iOS users such as websites. There’s been a strong debate about Reddit around here, One question from me … can anyone put a website that has an iOS app on my iOS app that doesn’t go through Apple’s App Store ?

“” Apple sees and treats other distributors of apps, for platforms other than iOS, as important competitors whose pricing and policies limit Apple ‘s ability to use power over carriers. -developer, “the iPhone maker said in a statement [PDF] to the Competition & Consumer Commission of Australia (ACCC) »
