Amazing documentation: An elephant cub that was run over underwent resuscitation operations

A dramatic moment was recorded in the province of Chantbury, Thailand, where an elephant cub was run over by a motorcycle undergoing resuscitation operations by locals. The little elephant, which was only a month old, was hit by the motorcycle and fell to the ground, crying in pain. But luckily, the townspeople came to his aid and managed to save his life. The elephant was hit by the passenger, 53-year-old Anan Chardsongongen, who was riding her motorcycle at speed and did not notice the small elephant walking on the road. The puppy flew through the air and fell on its side in tears, when a staff member at the fire department near the scene heard the elephant’s cries and ran to the spot. At one point, the little elephant began to lose consciousness and his pulse also weakened, so one of the volunteers began to perform CPR on the child.

Slowly, when one of the paramedics who had been called to the scene began to perform CPR on him, his pulse returned, but he still could not walk on his own. Later, after dedicated care, the elephant was returned to its elephant mother, who emerged from the forest and walked straight to her injured son and accompanied him back to nature. One of the rescue crews, named Luke, said: “We gave the elephant first aid and one of my colleagues performed CPR on him. It was a nerve-wracking moment, but I’m glad the elephant survived his injuries and is with his mother now.”

The paramedics also allowed the mother to take her puppy and even waited for them to leave, while treating the motorcyclist who was slightly injured as well and taken from the scene to the nearby dream home. “It was dark at the time of the collision and we think the young elephant was startled by something and ran to the road, but we prefer to wait a few days and question the motorcyclist after you recover,” Luke said.
