All percentages of success with and without the fans

Israeli football fans are counting down the days until they can finally, and after a year, return to the pitches. Since the beginning of March last year, no fans have entered the stadiums following the spread of the corona virus and now that the government has approved the continuation of the exit plan, the whole industry has been filled with hope that we will soon see stands filled with life, crowd and atmosphere.

So before that really happens, ONE checked for you what your teams did without you, when you watched from home. So true, beyond the fact that there is no audience in the stands there are quite a few other factors that affect a team’s success / failure, such as staff quality, professional staff, budget, injuries and the like, but it is possible that the dry data presented to you can teach the effect of changing status in the stands. Happening on the grass.

Did you miss the stands? Soon we will be there

The teams ‘data refer to the corresponding situation last year, up to the playoffs (in fact up to the point where the crowd was still allowed to enter the pitches) compared to the teams’ achievements this year without a crowd, up to the 22nd round – according to the teams ranking on the eve of the 23rd round.

Maccabi Haifa – the success rate at home grew by 20% without the crowd

It may surprise you, but until the playoffs last season the team from Carmel led the table and scored the most points in its home games (29). Maccabi Tel Aviv, which won the championship, achieved the same amount, but its goal ratio in the home games was lower (13:36 green versus 2:21 yellow). In fact, the Greens had 74% success in the home games with a crowd, when this season they scored 31 points at home (2 more) in 11 games (2 games less) and the success rate is 94% (!) At home without a crowd. Is the absence of the green fans a factor in the success of the team?

In weighting all games (home and away) without a crowd this season, the Greens stand at 76% success, compared to 74% last season with a crowd. Not such a significant difference, as the principal data showed that the green crowd reached the away games in the biggest numbers in the league.

Maccabi Tel Aviv – The home games were not affected by the absence of the crowd

The state champion had a tremendous season in 2019/20, when she barely conceded goals and dominated the league with a high hand. How much of her success is also credited to her fans? Let’s see. In last season’s home games with a crowd, Vladimir Ivitch’s Yellows at the time achieved 74% success compared to 73% success this year – that is, there is no significant difference when the Yellows play at Bloomfield with or without the crowd.

In the overall weighting of the home and away games, Tel Aviv have achieved 82% success with the yellow-blue crowd, while this season, without the fans, they stand at 72% success. A 10% drop in success in their games without the fans.

MS Ashdod – Crazy growth in home games without the crowd

One of the biggest surprises this year is of course Ran Ben Shimon’s team. This season, without a crowd in the 11th stadium, the club from the port city achieved 73% success – an amazing statistic for him (remember the Ashdodites defeated both Maccabi Haifa and Maccabi Tel Aviv at home). On the other hand, last season with Kahal, Ashdod achieved only 38% success – a growth of 35% (!). It should be noted that usually, and especially in games against the big ones, most of the crowd in the BEA is of the visiting crowd which gives his team a more homely atmosphere. It can be seen that there may be a direct impact on this team with a crowd and without.

Also in the general data of home and away games, there is a leap. Ashdod last season gained 36% success with an audience, compared to 53% success this year – an increase of 17% success.

Maccabi Petah Tikva – more successful without the fans

It should be noted that the team played last season in the National League and naturally the amount of crowd and its impact is smaller than the Premier League. Therefore the comparison was made for the 2018/19 season and it should be taken into account that the Malabes were relegated that season, but the amount of spectators was significantly greater (mainly due to the outside crowd). Also, up to the point of play (the playoffs) the blues were above the red line.

In the home games with an audience of the team from the mother of the colonies, only 33% success was achieved, compared to 48% success this season without an audience. In weighting, the Malabes achieved 50% success without an audience compared to 36% success in the period with the fans.

Hapoel Beer Sheva – not the same without the red crowd

If it is not enough that there is no crowd, most of the season Roni Levy’s players spent at Teddy Stadium following the renovation of Toto Turner. In any case, the red crowd did not make its way to the capital and saw his team from TV achieving only 42% success in home games, compared to 72% success in the same period with fans in the stands. A significant 30% change without the red crowd.

Overall and weighted home and away games, Beer Shevaim achieved 56% success last season with a crowd compared to 48% success this season without the crowd. Here, too, it can be seen that the team has gone backwards and it is possible that the absence of the crowd is part of the damage to its accumulation of points.

Maccabi Netanya – a small increase in success without the crowd

Raymond Atwald’s diamonds achieved last season, with an audience, 46% success in their home games. This season, however, the yellow-blacks have gained 48% success. Not a particularly significant difference. In general, Netanya achieved 40% success last season with an audience in home and away games together, compared to 45% this year – an increase of 5% success without an audience.

Betar Jerusalem – The group was less successful when its audience was sitting at home

The group from the capital is known for its cosmic connection with its fans and the atmosphere that Teddy creates. In the statistics test, the Jerusalemites achieved 59% success with the crowd at home games, compared to, mind you – only 30% this season without a crowd. Insane difference of 29% adverse success in home games.

The Jerusalem crowd is known as one that accompanies the team in large numbers also in the away games, when in the weighting of the home and away games this season, without fans, Betar’s success rates are 44%. Last season, however, with a crowd, the percentages were 63%, difference Of 19% adversity without the fans.

In general and weighting the home and away games, the team from Carmel gained 47% success with the crowd, compared to 42% this season without the fans, a difference of 5% for the worse.

The red team, which plays its home games at the Netanya Stadium, achieved 39% success this season at home without a crowd. In the same period last year, with the red crowd, Hadera achieved 46% success – that is, there is a 7% decrease for the worse from the lack of fans. Overall (home and away games), Hadera achieved last season with the crowd 43% success compared to 36% success this season without a crowd.

Hapoel Tel Aviv – a significant decrease in the accumulation of success rates without the crowd

The Reds are also known for the great impact their fans have on the team. Last season, with the red crowd in the stands, Hapoel achieved 49% success in Bloomfield, compared to only 30% success this season without a crowd. A staggering 19% adverse difference in accrual success rates when the audience is sitting at home.

Overall in the combined home and away games, Nir Klinger’s team has gained only 36% success this season. Last season and with the support of fans, the Reds achieved 49% success – a gap of 13%.

Hapoel Kfar Saba – Improvement in home games without the crowd

Yitzhak Shom’s club gained 39% success this season, without a crowd, compared to 33% last season, when the crowd was in the stands. This means that the Greens, who host at the Colony Stadium and not at their home in Levita, actually improved the success rates in their home without the crowd. Overall, Kfar Saba gained 33% success this season compared to the same amount (33%) last season when the crowd was in the stands.

Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv – Significant improvement in home games when the crowd is sitting at home

The Goldens from the Hatikva neighborhood are in one of their weakest seasons in recent years, but it is Bloomfield Stadium that brings them most of the few points they have accumulated this year. In the home games this season, without a crowd, the Oranges have gained 42% success compared to 23% last season. 19% improvement in home games when the team plays without the orange crowd. In general and the combination of home and away games, last season (with a crowd in the stands) Bnei Yehuda gained 43% success, while this year without a crowd it gained only 32% success.

Bnei Sakhnin – Combining home and away, a slight advantage for games without an audience

As in the case of Maccabi Petah Tikva, Bnei Sakhnin also played in the national league last season, so we will refer to data from the corresponding period of the 2018/19 season. On the home field, the Reds gained 28% success with an audience in the stands, while this season in Doha they gained 21% – a decrease of 7%. In general, in the season with the crowd (in home and away games) Sakhnin gained 27% while this season, without a crowd, it stands at 30% success, an improvement of 3%.
