Albert Park layout to change ahead of Australian GP

The format of the Albert Melbourne Park tour will change ahead of the Australian Grand Prix on 21 November.

The open opening of the F1 season has been delayed until the end of the season due to coronavirus infection. That date change has allowed circulation work to progress.

The revival of the tour aims to address recent criticism of the tour. Although the center is very popular, drivers have struggled with the limited prevention opportunities available.

Work will start on Monday and is expected to be completed in July.

The first phase has already been completed, with the pit widened by two meters and the wall of the pit moved to the roadside instead of a grass verge. The second phase, a change to several parts of the tour, is yet to be completed.

The biggest change comes from the chicane Turn 9/10, which is expected to turn from a heavy brake pedal into a high-speed part of the circuit.
