Alan Halsall at Coronation Street fears he will get a rematch over a story

‘I’m sure I’ll get a crumb around the ear!’ Alan Halsall at Coronation Street fears he will get a rematch over his deceptive story on ITV soap

Alan Halsall at Coronation Street is worried he will get a backlash after his character Tyrone Dobbs cheated on his longtime partner Fiz Stape.

The actor, 38, fears the relationship plot will turn fans of the show against his character, who has been playing for more than 23 years.

The on-screen romance of Alan and Fiz, played by Jennie McAlpine, is set to be confirmed after Tyrone kissed Alina Pop, recently played by Ruxandra Porojnicu.

Alan told the Daily Star over the story: ‘Tyrone is very simple. Thinking in the future is not his strong point. He gets his head turned by an attractive girl and it inspires him.

‘I don’t think Tyrone can get away with it. I think he will be represented as the bad guy, so right. I’m sure I’ll get a clip around the ear in Tesco a few times for this. ‘

The actor appeared to be ‘shocked’ by the change in his character, but said it came from his ‘selfish’ motives.

Earlier this month, Korean leaders revealed that they used body doubles to film the scene of Tyrone and Alina ‘s steamy kiss in an attempt to follow Covid’ s instructions.

Instead of co-stars Alan and Ruxandra, producers drafted in extra soap Alex Mulvaney and his wife Hannah to record the awful connection, with clever camera angles used to hide their identities.

After weeks of tensions with the amazing Alina, Tyrone finally came to a standstill, deceiving his partner Fiz by moving in for a kiss.

Because of Covid’s pandemic, actors on the Corrie set are ordered to stay two meters apart between filming, meaning a close connection or kiss would be out of the question.

To give a true picture of the chemistry in Tyrone and Alina ‘s relationship, bosses posted a draft in Alex, who is more than the soap, and his wife Hannah, who is somewhat similar to the couple.

For the scenes, actors Alan and Ruxandra recorded their conversation separately before being edited together in post-production.

To make sure the pair kept the vision they were looking into each other’s eyes, reps used a pair of tapered sunglasses on a telescopic radio airplane.

Alex and Hannah, who wore hair paint to make her tartan look more like Ruxandra, were then brought into the set to record the kiss, with the camera pull back to show the pair in a clinch on a Victoria Gardens bench.

Covid’s pandemic forced Korean leaders to be creative in ensuring they could continue filming while adhering to government guidelines.

Cast is asked to stay at least two meters apart in scenes, with clever camera angles used to hide the gaps between characters.
