Bogdan Planic, score: 7
Another solid game for the great brake of Maccabi Haifa
Lamek Benda, Score: 5
Should be much more versatile and efficient
Tonight (Saturday), Maccabi Haifa finished the regular season just as Barak Bachar expected – in first place in the table. Barak Bachar’s Greens did not encounter any special difficulties, beating Maccabi Netanya 0: 2 for the second time this season, which in turn remained out of the top playoffs. The big news for the Carmel Greens is the return of Nikita Rokavica – who will enter the playoffs with a first goal in almost two months.
Just before the Tel Aviv derby, Haifa knew it owed three points to the 5,000 enthusiastic fans who returned to the stands, painted Sami Ofer green and provided a great atmosphere. The host recorded a second consecutive victory and a second consecutive game without absorption and raised its balance to 58 points. On the other hand, Netanya finished the regular season in seventh place.

The game opened under heavy pressure from Maccabi Haifa. The Greens completely controlled and already after 7 minutes took the lead when Rokavica cooked for Raz Meir. Precisely after the goal, Netanya was released, while the Greens faded and allowed the opponent to take control of the lawn. That was enough for one kick to the crossbar of Aviv Avraham and the host went down with an advantage for the break.
In the second half Bachar realized he needed to regain control of midfield and put in Jose Rodriguez at the expense of Chiron Cherry, who was in a bad game. Ten minutes later, Rokavica joined the celebration and scored his first goal since January 30 after a noble Omar cooking. By the end, the Greens’ third was much closer than Netanya’s shrinking goal and the late one sailed for a justified victory.
