Minister of Justice Avi Nissenkorn Submitted a letter of resignation to the Prime Minister today (Wednesday) Benjamin Netanyahu And the Minister of Defense Bnei Gantz. As you may recall, yesterday Nissenkorn announced that he was leaving Blue and White and joining the new party founded by Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai.
“The attack on the rule of law is neither constructive criticism nor ideological struggle,” he wrote in his letter to Ganz. “This is a personal struggle, of one person, seeking to tighten the choke grip around the neck of the system in order to terrorize him for his personal legal considerations.
Nissenkorn added: “This reality must continue to be vigilant. In the struggle for Israeli democracy, we have no choice but to win.” In a letter addressed to Netanyahu, Nissenkorn wrote: “In light of the request of the deputy prime minister, I would like to inform you of my resignation from the post of Minister of Justice.”
