After the young woman was traveling fast and hit the couple, she collided with a bus stop and injured two more pedestrians. The video, documented by the security camera on the bus that was driving behind her, captured the frightening moment, after which Baya fled the scene. Shortly afterwards local police were able to locate Baya’s location and she was taken into custody.
Following the dramatic frontal collision, from which all the casualties emerged alive, the district court ruled that Baya was guilty of attempted murder and would be jailed for three years. The young woman also admitted to two counts of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm and another count of causing grievous bodily harm in dangerous driving. Local police spokesman Andy Jones said: “The consequences of Baya’s uncontrollable rage that day were catastrophic. Just in case the victims’ injuries were not serious, or even fatal.”
