A woman standing in the middle of SR-436 was struck in Apopka, killed by a pickup truck

A 21-year-old woman standing in the middle of 436 State Road in Seminole County was struck and killed by a pickup truck Tuesday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The fatal crash at 1:40 am on SR 436 was reported at the Action Park Court in Apopka.

The FHP said the woman, from West Virginia, was standing in the middle east row of SR 436 when she was hit.

The picket driver, a 20-year-old Casselberry man, could not avoid the woman, according to an FHP report.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, according to soldiers.

The driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured, the FHP said.
