A useful reference to pollution

Pollution is among the major issues that need to be addressed. Pollution is broadly classified as air, land, water and land pollution. The term pollution is defined as the undesirable changes in the particular environmental situation. The study of pollution is one of the broadest areas of study in almost every country around the globe. The by-products and their use over materials such as plastics, disposable plastic bags, medical waste and other contaminants have been reported from two decades along with their adverse effects.

Primer on Earth Pollution: Types of Pollution and Satisfaction, an encyclopedia of important research articles and short essays on pollution. Chapters in the first half provide information on many types of contaminants (dyes and microplastics) and contributing factors (thermal contamination and the effects of GM plants, for example). Each chapter explains the nature of the pollution agents and provides notes and references to protective measures. Notes on the clinical complications associated with exposure are also validated where appropriate, such as the case of MDR bacteria in marine environments. The final chapters of the book cover biotechnology of medical waste disposal using microbes as well as nanotechnology used to limit the release of COVID-19.

This book is a useful resource for students and trainees in the field of environmental science as it provides a balance of basic and applied information on the topic of pollution.
