The woman’s sister, who had also contracted the virus while pregnant, died just ten days earlier. The 31-year-old woman was admitted to hospital earlier this month after being contracted by COVID-19 and a day later underwent a Cesarean emergency to deliver her baby at Hospital Meir in Kfar Saba.
She was later released from the hospital, but her condition worsened, she developed a high fever and died at her home. The hospital said she showed no signs of virus at the time of her discharge.
Both women were not vaccinated against coronavirus.
