Proves he deserves another MVP title. Yannis Antecompo is just a huge player, and tonight (Sunday) he gave us another example in the early game in which Milwaukee defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 100: 105 at home and actually achieved a fifth straight win.
The mighty Greek scored 17 of his team’s last 20 points, helped complete a makeover and came back with a 0: 9 run from a 4-point deficit to a 5-point lead in the closing minutes. The All-Star finished with 36 points in total alongside 14 rebounds, helping the Bucks to a 13:21 balance, bringing them even closer to the leading Philadelphia of the Eastern Conference table. The Clippers, on the other hand, with a balance of 12:24 and a third loss in the last five games.
After a very close first quarter, the host managed to gain a 9-point advantage in the second quarter, but at the break it dropped to only 48:53. Later the locals put up a little more gear and reached a gap of 11 points, however a 13: 0 run allowed the team from LA to reverse the result and maintain a small advantage until the final minutes. There, Antecompo went into a crazy zone, shrunk to just a point (100: 99) with a basket and foul move, provided a big block on Kwai Leonard and then was sent to the line for two more accurate shots that became 100: 101.
The offenses of Leonard and Paul George off the arc prevented the Clippers from turning again, and Yannis punished on the other side with a dunk. Leonard, who finished with 25 points, missed another shot and it closed the story. Chris Middleton contributed 18 to the winner, Paul George 16 to the loser.
