Scientists in China have discovered a new virus, which they say is similar to SARS-CoV-2 that causes the COVID-19 infection. According to Express, the new virus detected by a Chinese zoologist has been found in bat species and is reported to be about 94 percent equivalent to COVID-19. The virus named RpYN06 was discovered by a team of researchers from Shandong First Medical University and Shandong Academy of Medical Sciences in Tain.
Chinese researchers discovered the new virus after studying 411 bat samples from 23 different species collected between 2019 and 2020 in Yunnan province. Scientists have discovered four new viruses associated with SARS-CoV-2, including the RpYN06 virus. Scientists have stated that all four viruses have the same genome type as COVID-19 but are similar to RpYN06 for being closer to SARS-CoV-2 because of its similar spike protein.
From that data we obtained 24 full-length coronavirus genomes, including four novel SARS-CoV-2 related genomes and three SARS-CoV-associated genomes. Of these viruses, RpYN06 exhibited 94.5% order identity to SARS-CoV-2 across the entire genome and was the closest relative of SARS-CoV-2 in the ORF1ab, ORF7a, ORF8 genes , N, and ORF10, the study said.
Disease Exposure X?
Earlier, the World Health Organization (WHO) had warned that another pandemic could be caused by “X Disease”, where X stands unexpectedly. Global experts believe that the world could be in the face of another imminent pandemic-induced disease caused by an unknown and unexpected disease or disease, known as ‘Disease X’.
According to the WHO, Disease X is the potential for an international disease that can spread from a pathogen that is still new to humans, just like the novel coronavirus. The global community has not yet recovered from the humanitarian and financial pressures caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the outbreak of another disease amid the crisis would mean a catastrophic catastrophe. .
The COVID-19 disease, which is believed to have originated in China before it spread to the rest of the world, is still raiding with more than 119 million cases and 2.65 million deaths worldwide. Governments around the world have implemented vaccination programs to control the disease. To date, more than 345 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered worldwide, and a total of 78 million people have been vaccinated.
