French protesters celebrated International Women’s Day by setting up a huge five-meter clitoris opposite the ‘phallic’ Eiffel Tower in Paris.
The Clito Gang introduced the large sexual organ into the Place du Trocadéro in view of the tower about half a mile away.
Members of the group said they set up the stunt to draw attention to the widespread ‘sexual literacy’.
International Women’s Day is held annually to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women, while raising awareness of gender equality and equality across the globe.
The Clito Gang established the five-meter sexual organ as a result of the Eiffel Tower to draw attention to widespread ‘sexual illiteracy’
They chose the location for the symbolism opposite the 324-foot tower, built in 1887.
The group’s co-founder Julia Pietri said: ‘The penis and clitoris are treated differently.
‘Your Clito group wanted to draw attention to widespread sexual illiteracy with the act.
‘A quarter of girls don’t know they have a clitoris. And 82 percent don’t know it’s erogenous erectile dysfunction.
Therefore, there is an urgent need to provide better education in schools. ‘
The move received online criticism from both male and female social media users.

The event was held today, International Women’s Day, but received some online criticism

The Clito gang chose the spot because it is in sight of the ‘phallic’ Eiffel Tower about a mile away.

The actions of the Clito Group in front of the Eiffel Tower drew humiliation from some people
One commented: ‘This is infertile, a woman is not a sexual object, but promoting this type of thing has the opposite effect. ‘
Another said: ‘Because I am very committed to women’s rights and respect, I see that this action is completely null.’
And one user commented: ‘It’s a shame: women’s struggles deserve better, far better, than being reduced to a pleasurable sexual organ. ‘
The protesters also aim to protect girls and women from sexual violence.
Victoria and David Beckham will lead the heralded interests Monday morning as International Women’s Day began with a powerful new message and another opportunity to celebrate with balloons, gifts and mandatory support messages.
And Victoria, 46, praised ‘the young women and girls out there’ in a short, powerful video message shared by her 28 million Instagram followers.
Presenter Davina McCall defied the contract by crediting a man for his work on behalf of women’s rights.
She said: ‘Happy International Women’s Day. I really want to shout at someone; I am going to say thank you to Jonathan Ross. He is a strong supporter of women and equal rights and makes it very quiet but very brilliant.
‘Thank you to the men who support us on our journey. I’m going to fight this year for women to get better help around menopause. I think this is a good place for inequality because I think if men were going through menopause they would not get the hard time we are trying to get help with. ‘
