A follow-up test for pregnant women who want to get vaccinated against corona

In the last two weeks, pregnant women, especially women in risk groups, have become a high-priority population to be vaccinated against the corona virus. The recommendation of the leading factors in the field of health came after a number of pregnant women were hospitalized in the various hospitals in the country with the complications of the virus, some of whom are in serious condition. Despite the recommendation and call for this population to be vaccinated, there is still concern among women, mainly due to the lack of research data on the vaccination of pregnant women.

Maimonides decided to lift the glove and address women who want to get vaccinated against the corona virus, through an ultrasound scan of the fetus, before and after each vaccination.

The test is given as a community service, at no cost, to women who are in the 24th week of pregnancy or later, and provided they undertake to be monitored, before and after the two vaccine doses.

“The understanding that there is a fear of mothers here about the future gave rise to this initiative,” explains Prof. Ron Blossky, Director of the Obstetrician-Gynecological Ultrasound Unit (US) at Rambam. , In order to monitor the condition of the embryos and try to make this process less worrying. Because the issue is important to us, especially to the population that is at high risk for infection, we decided to offer it as a community service, at no cost, but the women you choose to attend must commit to the whole process and come for all the tests. We hope that in this way we will be able to help protect this population from the virus and calm the understandable concerns. ”
