Alien elcor racing doesn’t have a big place in the Mass Effect universe, but meeting them is something that players are sure to remember.
The elcor is some of the most interesting alien races found in the Mass effect hemisphere. Unlike other alien races, elcor cannot be added to Shepard’s team throughout the original trilogy. However, players can still chat with elcor in places like the Citadel, Omega from Mass Effect 2, and even Peak 15 on Noveria in the original version Mass effect.
Once players encounter elcor, they are a bit hard to forget. These monsters are huge and move on four legs – an anomaly compared to many other alien races. Elcor is slow, deliberate, and ultimately one of the most interesting monsters to interact with all three Mass effect games.

Elcor is particularly similar to elephants, although they do not have tails or stems. Elcor moves with caution and care, but their slow pace does not detract from their strength. Biologically speaking, elcor has a strong sense of smell and at least three stomachs. Their higher olfactory sensations elcor helps to communicate with each other, but do little when it comes to cross-racial communication.
Other alien races have flat lips, similar to humans, but elcor lips are just straight. Their speech patterns are slow and steady, just like their body movements, but their monotone would often be misused when talking to others who were not. To counter further miscommunication, elcor will begin their sentences with an emotional statement so that anyone they speak to understands the intent.
Speech between elcor, however, is largely dependent on smell and subtle body movements. Elcor will live longer than humans, however not as long as asari or krogan. By elcor standards, 100 are still relatively young, and 400 are considered old. In addition, young elkors are called “calves”.
History of Elcor
Elcor hail from their home Dekkuna. Once, elcor traveled the land in large tribal groups. As soon as the asari contacted them, however, the elcor established a normal route to the Citadel. Even though they were one of the most prominent species in the Citadel space, they still have to share an embassy with the volus.
When the Rippers began attacking the Milky Way in 2186, the elcor fleet was quickly evacuated, leaving much left on Dekkuna. In Mass effect 3, Commander Shepard they can choose the elcor to help empty the ones that are stuck on the home. While gameplay is not involved, players must speak to the anonymous elcor ambassador in the Citadel.
Just like the quarries and drell, the elcor was missing Mass effect: Andromeda. The absence is recognized in the game, and the companion book Mass effect: Andromeda: Annihilation talks about the struggle the quarian ark has to get to the new galaxy. It is unclear whether players will recover Andromeda anytime soon thanks to him the effect of Mass Effect 4 trailer.
Slow and numbered movements and thoughts develop the elcor over time as a result of the Dekkuna high gravity environment. Elcor is careful, conservative, and is not afraid to make plans that will take centuries to develop. The elcor government, known as the Dekkuna Courts, has a reputation for being very persistent, following the advice of elcor elders as necessary.
Elcor also invests time in the arts and entertainment, with an all-elcor version of Shakespeare’s Hamlet earning an award and gaining great popularity throughout the Citadel space. While players may not interact with the elcor as well as other alien races throughout the Milky Way, they are still an exciting addition that makes the galaxy feel more alive and, in a way, diverse. It will be interesting to see how the elcor has been refreshed Mass effect: Legendary editing.
