Not many masks were seen in the crowd as thousands of people arrived at Suncorp Stadium for the Broncos game on Saturday afternoon.

Earlier hours, the Queensland Performing Arts Center (QPAC) immediately imposed a mandatory requirement for fans to wear masks.

“In this rapidly changing environment and to be proactive, we want to advise that masks are now mandatory,” QPAC tweeted.

Boundary restrictions

After a positive test of the Stafford man on Thursday, other states rushed to impose new restrictions on recent occupants of Brisbane and Moreton Bay.

Interstate travelers are advised to check for updates on state websites.

Queensland currently has 71 active cases, with the majority in hotel quarantine.

Five or six cases have been reported in quarantine daily for the past fortnight, pushing hospital capacity near the peak of the pandemic, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said.

“That’s not to say our hospitals can’t deal – they will be able to deal – but [we are seeing a] high inclusion and a high rate of return passengers being positive, “Ms Palaszczuk said.

For that reason, the Prime Minister has called on the Prime Minister to suspend the number of people arriving internationally in Queensland for the next two weeks so that the state can focus on finding communications.

Queensland currently accepts 1,300 international entrants each week.
