A 9% increase in the required amount of new apartments – real estate

Between September and November, the requested quantity of new dwellings increased by 9.1% compared to the previous three months, the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) reports today. The requested quantity of new dwellings was about 14,920 dwellings, of which 72% were sold. 11,360 apartments (according to reports to the Tax Authority, the number of transactions was about 10,080).

The requested quantity of new dwellings consists of 76.2% of new dwellings sold to the general public, and of 23.8% of new non-sale dwellings that began construction – 3,560 dwellings, an increase of 15.6% compared to the previous three months. 66.2% of these were built as part of self-construction and “build your own home” and 13.4% are built for rent, most in the Central District.

By district, 45% of the total demand for new dwellings was in the center and Tel Aviv, 25.5% in the Haifa and northern districts, 19.1% in the southern district and only 7.8% in the Jerusalem district. Examining by locality, about a third of the apartments sold are concentrated in Ashkelon, Tel Aviv-Yafo, Rishon Lezion, Beit Shemesh, Ramla, Harish and Jerusalem.

The data also show that at the top of the list of localities where there was an increase in the sale of new apartments compared to the previous period were the cities of Hadera, Beer Yaakov, Harish, Pardes Hanna-Karkur, Kiryat Ono, Petah Tikva, Ramla and Yokneam-Elite.
