The Haifa District Planning and Building Committee has decided to approve a plan to build a new municipal football stadium in Hadera that includes 15,000 seats.

The stadium complex is located on an area of about 130 dunams in the northeast of the city, and is integrated into the areas of the metropolitan park and near the “Hadera East” train station, which is planned to be built in the coming years. Many recreational, sports and recreational uses are planned in the complex, which are integrated into the park space.

The complex includes an indoor stadium as well as locker rooms, judging rooms, treatment rooms and more as required by the most stringent international standards. In addition to the stadium, a training complex will be built for the children and youth groups, which includes two standard training fields and another training field, locker rooms and gyms, conference rooms and more.

A total of 23,000 square meters of space is allocated to the stadium and training complex. Adjacent to the stadium is a commercial building with 8,000 square meters of commercial space that will serve the stadium island and the residents of the city and the surrounding area. The complex has also been designed so that it can host large shows.

In addition to its proximity to the planned train station, the planning includes, among other things, public transport routes, bicycle paths and a bus parking lot for the well-being of visitors. The design also fits into the Metropolitan Park, offering pedestrian paths and an active plaza around the stadium.

The current stadium of Hadera is located at the corner of Golani Brigade and Yitzhak Rabin streets, and a residential and sheltered housing program is currently being promoted in its place. The stadium, built in the 1940s, can hold 3,000 spectators and is owned by the Histadrut. The plan is an initiative of the Hadera Municipality and was prepared by Goldschmidt Arditi Ben-Naim Architects.

Hadera Mayor Zvika Gandelman: “A city with a worthy team in the Premier League deserves a proper stadium. From the day I took office 7 years ago, I promised to build a proper stadium in Hadera and today, the district committee approved the plans – an important step in the project.”
