If in doubt, there are also numbers and records behind the two-star shows, which may get Kyrie Irving on Wednesday night. Durant (72) and Harden (66) together scored 138 points in their first two games as a duo in Brooklyn. Only one duo in history has scored more points in its first two games together – Wilt Chamberlain and York Laris in 1961 (151 points).
The two are also the only ones to ever score 30+ points each in their first two games together. Harden is also the first player in NBA history with 30+ points and 10+ assists in his first two games in a new team.
Kevin Durant (72) and James Harden (66) have combined for 138 points in their first 2 games as Nets teammates.
Per @EliasSports , that’s 2nd-most in a duo’s first two games with a franchise. The most is 151 by Wilt Chamberlain (139) and York Larese (12) on the 1961 Warriors. pic.twitter.com/TCVMhC5MHn
