Raviv Cohen, a friend of Ben Shabbat who worked with him to rescue the family who was swept away by a car, described the moments of drama: “Mutti and I saw people screaming for help to get them out of the car in a flood. We took off our clothes, jumped into the water and pulled them out. “I started yelling at divers to look for him in depth. Mutti told me a moment before he was swept away that he felt he had run out of power and that he was going to faint. He was swept ashore through the drain pipe.”
