PARIS (Reuters) – French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said on Thursday that resolving overseas trade sanctions is his priority for dealing with the new administration of US President Joe Biden.

“These sanctions are very destructive. A trade war is not in the interests of the US and not in the interests of Europe, ”Le Maire said in an interview at a Reuters Next conference.

Le Maire said he had not received “first signals” from the incoming administration and hoped to visit Washington in February.
