Meanwhile, 18 fines were handed out yesterday to educational institutions that acted in violation of the Corona regulations, this morning at the meeting of the Education Committee, Major General Lillian Segs, head of the security department of educational institutions at the Israel Police, said eight educational institutions in Jerusalem received fines, one in the Central District; ; One in SJ District; Four in Tel Aviv and two in the Southern District. She further explained that after the fine is given, the director of the institution calls the parents and demands that they come to pick up the students.

At the committee meeting, it was reported that the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education are accelerating the administration of vaccines to teachers, and it is expected that by the beginning of next week, all teachers interested in the vaccine will be vaccinated.

The Ministry of Education said that 17,448 teaching staff and education staff had registered since last night to be vaccinated against Corona. This is about 9% of all teaching staff and education staff in Israel. The data also show that 17,106 teaching staff and education staff reported that they had already been vaccinated or recovered from the corona virus, of whom 13,271 were over the age of sixty, and 3,835 were under the age of 60.

As you may recall, the education system closed this week for the third time since the outbreak of the crisis. The closure will last for at least two weeks and will not miss any age group – from day care centers, kindergartens, elementary schools to high schools – everyone will stay to study from home. Excluded from quarantine: special education students and youth at risk.
Against the background of the government’s decision to exclude special education studies, studies at these educational institutions will take place five days a week, every day until 14:00. However, this is not a full school day. The school day is shortened to alleviate the burden placed on the teaching staff of special education – who claim to be afraid to work in closure. Yesterday, the kindergarten teachers and teachers said goodbye to the students, hoping to meet again soon.
