Spanish authorities are shocked, after an 85-year-old woman who was declared dead suddenly rose to life in particularly delusional circumstances.
It all started when Ramen Blanco received a message on January 13 that his wife Rogelia, who was hospitalized, had died of coronation and was buried. Spanish law forces hospitals to bury their dead as quickly as possible, especially when it comes to corona virus deaths.
If the elderly woman was associated with a local nursing home as in this case – the nursing home will try to locate her relatives, but if he does not find them, he does not have to wait for their permission to bury her. So it actually happened that Ramen got the message that his wife was buried. “When I was told she was dead, I could not stop crying,” Ramen repeated in a conversation with local reporters who covered his story.
Then, a week and a half after the terrible news, while he was still mourning his dear wife – Rogalia suddenly appeared in the nursing home where they live together.
According to local newspaper La Voz de Galicia, an identification error occurred in the ward where Rogalia was hospitalized, and whoever died was her partner in Rogalia’s room and not Rogalia. The management of the nursing home and the management of the hospital apologized in the media for the mistake, which they said probably occurred during the transport of the deceased elderly woman. “In December alone, we made hundreds of such transfers, and this is a one-time incident that will not return. We apologize to the family for the mistake,” they said.
The local court is now working to revoke the death certificate that the hospital managed to issue for Rogalia instead of for her roommate.
