How fun to have NBA games at reasonable hours, and more like that between great teams with huge stars. At this time (live on5SPORT) The high-quality Los Angeles Clippers host the outstanding Luca Doncic Dallas, and while it initially looked like an edge fight according to the situation at the table (even though it’s only their third game), something just amazing happened in the first half.
The Mavericks took advantage of the fact that Kwai Leonard was not on the roster following a mouth injury (needed stitches after a collision with Serge Ivka’s elbow), and simply dismantled the Clippers with 27:77 at the end of the second quarter. This is the highest difference ever in NBA history after one half. To date the record has belonged to Golden State, which led by 47 points over Sacramento. By the way, this is the same Dallas that 48 hours before this game snatched 138 points from the Lakers on the same floor.

The Clippers opened 2020/21 with two away wins (even though one of them was in the City of Angels in the LA Derby). In the first Tyrone Lou’s team defeated the Lakers, and in the second over Denver, and the cumulative difference of the two games helped them grab first place right now. Not very surprisingly, the two players who stood out in these victories were Paul George and Kwai Leonard (who this time is missing from the team).
The Mavericks on the other hand have suffered two losses so far, against Phoenix and the Lakers. Rick Carlisle’s Slovenian star Doncic probably stood out in both games with 32 and 27 points respectively.
Mavs lead by 50 points on the Clippers at the half.
