Gabriel Jesus Celebrates (Reuters)
Mighty, unusual, above the league. There are no words to describe the 21-win streak (!) Of Manchester City, who are cruising towards the return of the championship title in England and are doing so in a spectacular show of strength. Tonight (Tuesday) Pep Guardiola’s side got a little tangled up, but ended up celebrating with a big 1: 4 over Wolves after a blitz in the closing minutes.
The Blues took the lead in the 15th minute from an own goal by Lander Dendonker, but Conor Quadi scored in the 62nd minute and it already seemed that perhaps the crazy streak in all frames should be noted on the way to the end. But then came Gabriel Jesus who allowed in the 80th minute and ten minutes later it was Riyad Mahraz who stuck the third and if that was not enough 5 minutes into extra time the Brazilian completed a double and set 1: 4 at the end and who else remembers being 1: 1 until 79 minutes .
Now, Pep’s side are of course proudly at the top of the table with 65 after 27 games, “only” 15 more than their city rival Manchester United. By the way, history was also recorded tonight when no less than eight Portuguese took part in the match, the most in the history of the Premier League.
