2. You are having trouble finding your favorite suppliers
With Medicare Advantage, you are limited to a specific network of health care providers. If you’re having trouble finding doctors you trust or want to use, it might pay to see if there’s a better plan for you – maybe one you know some of the names that are on the network.
3. You can’t find a convenient pharmacy
Just as you are limited to certain doctors with Medicare Advantage, your plan will limit you to intranet pharmacies. If you can’t find a pharmacy in a suitable place, that’s enough reason to look at a different plan.
4. You now plan to spend time out of state
Original Medicare allows you to access care virtually anywhere in the country, but with Medicare Advantage, you are typically limited to local providers. That could be a problem if, say, you now think you will be spending a lot of time outside of your home state.
In that case, it could pay to abandon your Benefit plan, just instead of applying for another one, enroll in original Medicare. Fortunately, that is option through March 31 if you choose to pursue it.
