A violent incident took place tonight (Saturday) in Holon between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv fans before the derby in Bloomfield. The Israel Police announced that following a brawl between fans identified with the two teams, they arrested four of the Yellows’ fans, on suspicion of assaulting a Hapoel fan, who was moderately injured.

However, it is important to note that the investigation at the beginning and the detainees are currently only part of those involved, when the possibility is examined that other Hapoel fans are also involved and it is not necessarily an attack of several fans against the same injured fan.

The police statement read: “Tonight, the police opened an investigation upon receiving a report at Hotline 100 regarding suspicion of a brawl in Holon, near a building used by football team fans, when according to medical sources from the place, Assaf Harofeh medical man in his twenties. Ayalon police opened a search for suspects, at the end of which they arrested four suspects, aged about 20, on suspicion of involvement in the brawl.
