A lack of wind forced the fourth day of racing between the Emirates of New Zealand and Luna Rossa to postpone Prada Pirelli on Sunday.

The 36th American Cup has a lower wind limit of 6.5 knots and the wind did not rise above that consistently until action could be taken.

Race organizers had chosen Course A for the day, however, a high pressure system over most of Hauraki Bay and Waitemata Harbor caused a lack of wind on the course.

Organizers have said that the forecast on Monday, when racing begins, looks “promising” with the expectation of 10-15 miles of wind.

The postponed day adds another twist and turns into what is already proving to be a fierce rivalry between the Kiwi defender and the Italian opponent.

Over the first three days, nothing separates them on the scoreboard as New Zealand’s Emirates Team and Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli have won three races each.

The American Cup game is the first-to-seven series win and the challenge for both teams is Monday, trying to win consecutive races on the same day.

Watch every minute of the American Cup challenge, live on Sky Sports. Coverage will continue with the fifth race day of Monday’s 36th American Cup Match from 3am.
